🤖 Tesla's Humanoid Robot, Optimus, Could Be Ready for Sale by the End of Next Year!
This year, Microsoft announced a new partnership with the Nvidia-backed startup, Figure, as part of a broader trend towards the development of humanoid robots for various industries.
But yesterday, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, outpaced the competition by announcing that Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, may be ready for sale by the end of next year.
Optimus, or Tesla Bot, is a humanoid robot currently in the developmental stages at Tesla, Inc. Its unveiling took place during the company's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Day event on August 19, 2021, with a prototype showcased in 2022.
Elon Musk envisions a future where Optimus will possess the capability to handle "anything that humans don’t want to do," a concept that may evoke both excitement and serious apprehension.

The partnership focuses on experimenting with cutting-edge technology, including Azure OpenAI Service, to develop innovative AI use cases. Coca-Cola migrated all its applications to Microsoft Azure and has been innovating with generative AI for nearly a year.
🛠️ Microsoft Commits to Preventing AI Misuse for Child Safety
Microsoft has joined forces with Thorn, All Tech is Human, and other leading companies to prevent the misuse of generative AI technologies in perpetuating sexual harms against children.
This initiative aims to implement preventative and proactive measures into Microsoft's generative AI technologies and products.
These measures include:
Responsibly sourcing training datasets.
Incorporating feedback loops.
Employing content provenance.
Releasing and distributing generative AI models after evaluating child safety.
Safeguarding products and services from abusive content.
Maintaining model and platform safety by actively understanding and responding to child safety risks.
Microsoft also pledges to prevent its services from scaling access to harmful tools, invest in research and future technology solutions, and fight against child sexual abuse material (CSAM), AI-generated CSAM (AIG-CSAM), and child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) on its platforms.
💡 THIS WEEK’S TOP TIP
In Microsoft Teams, each channel has its own dedicated email address. But when emails are sent to the channel address, the emails don't appear in the channel members’ Outlook inboxes. Instead, emails appear in the channel as a message.
For this week’s top tip, we’ll show you how to make channel emails work like real email addresses by leveraging flows in PowerAutomate.
