🕵️♂️ Microsoft Battles Russian Hackers After Email Breach
Microsoft is still dealing with Russian hackers who broke into the email accounts of top executives back in November.
These hackers, reportedly from Russia's SVR foreign intelligence service, have been trying to infiltrate customer networks using stolen access data.
The hackers used this data to compromise source-code repositories and internal systems.
Microsoft disclosed that sensitive information was accessed from email communications, including passwords, certificates, and authentication keys.
🚨 The company is now reaching out to affected customers to assist them in mitigating the breach.
🏥 Healthcare Leaders Launch Trustworthy AI Network
A new consortium of healthcare leaders has formed the Trustworthy & Responsible AI Network (TRAIN) at the HIMSS 2024 Global Health Conference.
Members include prominent healthcare organizations and Microsoft, aiming to make safe and fair AI accessible to every healthcare organization.
Through collaboration, TRAIN aims to improve the quality, safety, and trustworthiness of AI in healthcare by sharing best practices, enabling AI registration, providing outcome measurement tools, and developing a national AI outcomes registry.
🛡️ New Data Loss Prevention Feature
Microsoft has updated its Data Loss Prevention feature in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
Now, administrators can see more information about attachments in emails that break the Data Loss Prevention rules.
This new feature shows details like the name, size, and labels of the attachments.
With this extra information, administrators can better understand what caused the data breach and take smarter steps to fix security issues.
💡 THIS WEEK’S TOP TIP
