✉️ TOP STORIES (WITH OUR INSIGHTS)

📊 KeyTips Coming Soon to Office for Mac

KeyTips are now available for Microsoft 365 Insiders and are coming soon to all users in Office for Mac. These shortcuts, which are already available on Windows devices, will help users navigate Excel, Word, OneNote, and PowerPoint more easily on MacOS.

Full Story and Our Insights:

KeyTips, the keyboard shortcuts for items in the ribbon menu of Microsoft applications, are now available for Office on Mac. These shortcuts allow users to quickly navigate and perform tasks using the keyboard.

To activate KeyTips, press the Option (⌥) key and the KeyTips will then appear over ribbon tabs.

To use a command, simply find the desired command and press the characters shown in the KeyTip. Some KeyTips may lead to additional KeyTips. For example, if you press N from the Home tab, the Insert tab will open and display KeyTips for items in that tab.

Currently, KeyTips are only available in English for Microsoft 365 Insiders, but they will be available in all languages upon general release.

Availability: KeyTips are available to Beta Channel users of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for Mac running Version 16.86 (Build 24052212) or later. The feature will become available to all users in the coming months.

🔄 Join Loop Workspaces with a Link

The process of adding members to a Loop workspace is being streamlined with quick access via links.

Full Story and Our Insights:

Instead of adding users individually, workspace links now allow quick access sharing through platforms like Teams, Outlook, or other communication tools.

  • To share a workspace link, navigate to the upper-right corner of your workspace and click the “Share” button. [1]

  • Select “Workspace” in the dropdown. [2]

  • Finally, click the “Copy Link” button. [3]

You can then share this link with your teammates via your preferred communication platform.

Note: this feature currently does not support guest access, which must still be added using their name or email.

🤖 New Custom Tone Feature for Copilot in Teams

The new custom tone feature for Copilot in Teams allows users to refine messages with a text prompt.

Full Story and Our Insights:

Microsoft has introduced a new custom tone feature for Copilot in Teams, allowing users to change the sound of a message using a text prompt.

This feature allows users to refine messages instead of rewriting them, so that you can add persuasive language, convert long sentences into bulleted lists, or even change the language.

For instance, you could use the custom tone feature to ask Copilot for a "more concise and cheerful message in French," and it will apply these changes and translate the message instantly!
