🎙️ Improved User Experience for Dictate in Outlook

The Dictate feature in Outlook has been updated, allowing users to pause and resume dictation, change the dictation settings, and troubleshoot issues using a help article.

This update is for the New Outlook (Windows desktop version) and Outlook on the web.

To use Dictate, click the microphone icon in the “Message” tab while composing a new email.

You will now see a popup menu with the options to:

  • Pause or resume dictation.

  • Change settings, such as language and auto-punctuation.

  • View the help article, which opens on the right side.

Copilot: Automatically Summarize Word Documents

Microsoft is currently rolling out an update for users with a Copilot license, which automatically summarizes the document at the top.

  • Expand the summary by clicking the “View more” button.

  • Click the up arrow in the top right of the summary box to minimize.

📞 New Queues App For Microsoft Teams Coming Soon

The Queues app will be a native Microsoft Teams feature designed to enhance customer engagement by streamlining call management within your organization.

Currently, the Queues app is in private preview, due for release towards the end of 2024, and will be included in the Teams Premium package.

🕟 Look Professional With This FREE Signature Builder for Outlook

As an On The Pulse subscriber, you get early access to exclusive Microsoft 365 resources. This week, we’re excited to introduce our Signature Builder for Outlook, transforming plain emails into polished, professional communications.

  • Scroll down the left menu and fill out the inputs.

Tip: to create a link to your profile image, you can use PostImages, a free image upload site.

  • To create a signature, draw in the box under “Signature.”

  • Then click “Save” to add the signature.

  • To remove the signature, click “Clear.”

  • When you’ve finished, click “Copy” at the top.

  • Once copied, head to Outlook.

  • There, enter a name for the signature. (1)

  • Then paste the signature below. (2)

  • Click “Save.”

Note: To get there from the Outlook home page, click the settings (cog) icon at the top. Then head to “Mail” > “Compose and reply.”

  • Before leaving, scroll down to “For New Messages,” click the select box, then choose the signature you just saved.

  • Click “Save” again to finish.

🚀 Now your sent emails will contain a professional-looking signature at the bottom, with all relevant contact details to keep you and your contacts connected!
